Tait Joins Bulldog Coaching Staff

Former Montana Tech assistant coach Chase Tait has joined the University of Montana Western men’s basketball coaching staff according to head coach Steve Keller.

Tait is a 1988 graduate of Polson High School of Polson, Mont., and a 1992 graduate of Montana State University/Bozeman. He received his master’s in technology in education from Lesley University in 2005.

Tait was as an assistant for the girls program at Bozeman Senior High School from 1991 – 1992. In 1992, Bozeman won the state ‘AA’ title.

He was an assistant for the boys program at Fairfield High School of Fairfield, Mont. from 1993-95. In 1993, Fairfield won the Class B state championship.

Tait was the head boys coach at Fairfield High School from 1994 – 2002. In 1994 and 1995, Fairfield finished second at the state Class B tournament.

In 2002, he moved to Montana Tech where he was the assistant men’s coach, head jv coach and head golf coach.

In 2006-07, he was the head girls basketball coach at Huntley Project High School of Worden, Mont. His career record as a head coach is 223-119.

Bulldogs Sign Broadview Star

Kyle Erickson, a 6’2” guard from Broadview, Mont. has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Steve Keller.

Erickson is a 2007 graduate of Broadview High School.

He averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game and earned all-conference honors.

“We are excited that Kyle has decided to play for the Bulldogs,” said Keller. “Kyle is very athletic with good shooting, passing, and ball-handling skills. He has the potential to be a good player at Montana Western.”

Erickson also earned all-conference honors in football and all-state honors in track.

He is the son of Bart and Lynn Erickson and plans to major in elementary education.
