Bulldogs To Hold First Practice of 2005-06 Season
Friday, September 30 2005
The University of Montana-Western Bulldog basketball team will officially kick-off the 2005-06 season on Sunday, October 2 with the first practice of the year.

Last year, Western finished with an overall record of 20-13 and a conference mark of 7-7. The Bulldogs closed out last year with a loss to Lewis-Clark in the Frontier Conference championship game.

Head Coach Mark Durham will build his squad with four talented returning players, one talented redshirt, three talented transfers and Montana's best high school player from a year ago.

Returning from last year are seniors Jeff Feenstra and Jeff Graham, junior Tyler Palmer and sophomore Terry Hauser. Redshirt Marshall Lagge will move from the J.V. program to varsity. Transfers include Wes Morales from Rocky Mountain College, Kellen Ori from Montana Tech and Greg Hall from Reedley College of California. The frosting on the cake for this talented group of players is Montana's “Gatorade Player of the Year”, Charlie Cox of Missoula.

“I really like the make-up of the team,” said Durham. “We have great quickness and great shooters. We also have good size underneath. This will be a fun team to watch. I am excited to finally get going!”

Western opens the season on October 20 with a home game against the University of Lethbridge.
