Anaconda Volleyball Star Signs With Lady Bulldogs

Brianna N. Ternes, a 5'8” outside hitter from Anaconda, has signed an NAIA/Frontier Conference letter of intent to play volleyball for the University of Montana-Western, according to head coach Jenny Peterson.
Ternes was a first team All-Conference and All-State selection. In both her junior and senior seasons, she was her team leader in kills, serving percentage and service aces. In her senior season, she had 244 kills. 64 service aces, 164 digs and a serving percentage of 96.6%. For her career, Ternes had 439 kills, 113 aces, 343 digs and a serving percentage of 96.5%.
“Brianna is a great addition to our program,” said Peterson. “We are very fortunate she chose Western to further her education. Not only is she a great athlete and a real competitor, Brianna is outstanding in the classroom as well. She has participated in our summer volleyball camp since she was a freshman, so we are truly delighted that she will be a Lady Bulldog!”
In addition to volleyball, she also participated in track where she also earned All-Conference honors. Ternes was selected to Who's Who in Sports. From the classroom, she maintains a 3.7 GPA and earned Academic All-State Honors. She was selected to her school's Honor Roll, the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students, the National Honor Roll, the U.S. Achievement Academy and was selected Student of the Week by the National Society of High School Scholars. Ternes was also actively involved in Pep Club, A-Club and was a member of the Yearbook Staff.
She will graduate this Spring from Anaconda High School. Ternes is the daughter of Wayne and Diane Ternes and plans to major in elementary education with a special education certificate.
