8th Annual Southwest Classic Volleyball Tournament

The 8th Annual Southwest Classic Volleyball Tournament is set for Saturday, August 13 at the University of Montana-Western. All matches will be in the Western P.E. Complex.

The tournament is divided into two brackets:freshman in high school and sophomore through seniors in high school. The tournament format is pool play followed by single elimination.

There is a $10.00 entry fee per player. Deadline to register is Tuesday, August 9th.

Laurel Volleyball Star Signs With Lady Bulldogs

Kiley Myers, a 5-6 defensive specialist from Laurel, Montana, has signed an NAIA/Frontier Conference letter of intent to play volleyball for the University of Montana-Western, according to head coach Jenny Peterson. She is a 2005 graduate of Laurel High School

In her senior season, Myers had 221 kills, 349 digs, 91% serving percentage, a 93% passing percentage and earned All-Conference honors. For her career at Laurel, she had 389 kills, 560 digs, a serving percentage of 87% and a passing percentage of 90%.

“Kiley is a great person to have in our program,” said Peterson. “Her competitiveness, love for the game, and work ethic, combined with her athletic ability, can only help our team. We are looking forward to having Kiley at Western and a part of our volleyball program.

In addition to volleyball, Myers also competed in softball where she earned All-Conference and All-State honors and basketball where she earned All-Conference honors.

From the classroom, she maintained a 3.3 GPA and was selected to her school's Honor Roll. Myers served as president of the Student Council.

She is the daughter of Shane and Pattie Myers and is undecided on her major at Western.
