Bulldogs Host MSU-Northern, UGF
Thursday, September 27 2007
The University of Montana Western volleyball team hosts their first home matches of the current season when they host a pair of Frontier Conference matches on Friday, Sept. 28 and Saturday, Sept. 29.

The Bulldogs are hoping the home court will be the difference as Montana Western is still looking for their first win of the season.

Montana Western is 0-13 on the season and 0-3 in conference play after last week’s 3-0 loss at Montana Tech.

On Friday, the Bulldogs host MSU-Northern with the first serve beginning at 7 p.m. in the Straugh Gymnasium.

Northern is 1-3 in league play and 2-10 overall. The Skylights conference win came against Carroll when they beat the Saints 3-2.

Last year, the Bulldogs scored their lone win of the season against MSU-Northern. Montana Western won 3-2 in Dillon.

On Saturday afternoon, Montana Western hosts the University of Great Falls in a match that begins at 2 p.m. in the Straugh gym.

Great Falls is 1-3 in the conference and 7-8 and like the Bulldogs, have been bit by the injury bug. Two of their starters, both all-conference players have been sidelined for an indefinite period of time.

The Bulldogs lost three players to season ending injuries, but got a boost this week when 6’1” Becky O’Neil was cleared to play. O’Neil, an all-american basketball player for Montana Western, last played volleyball at Flathead High School in Kalispell.
