Lady Bulldog Basketball Lands Billings Star

Jandi Farnsworth, a 2007 graduate of Billings Senior High School of Billings, Mont., has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball and volleyball for the University of Montana Western.
She earned volleyball All-Conference honors in 2005 and 2006 as Billings Senior won back-to-back state championships with a 62-2 overall record. For her career, Farnsworth recorded 295 kills with a .272 hitting percentage. She had 174 digs, 61 solo blocks and 84 assisted blocks. She was selected her team’s “Come-back Player of the Year and State Tournament Co-MVP.
“We are excited to have Jandi in our program,” said Katie Howells, Montana Western volleyball coach. “She comes from a team that knows how to win and has a very competitive attitude. We look forward to her being a contributor in the front row for us.”
In basketball, she averaged five points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals per game as Billings Senior finished 17-5 on the season. She was selected to play in the Rocky Mountain Shoot-Out and selected to the Montana team that competed at the Elite Sports International‘s King Kamehameha Basketball Classic in Hawaii.
“Jandi is a great athlete and a tremendous rebounder,” said women’s basketball coach Kevin Engellant. “She is a good kid and an outstanding student. We are excited she has chosen Montana Western to continue her academic and athletic career.”
Farnsworth will major in physical therapy. She is the daughter of Mikel and Debra Farnsworth.
