Monday, July 18 2005
Genna Rucker, a 5-7 guard from Bozeman, Montana, has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana-Western Lady Bulldogs according to head coach Kevin Engellant.

Rucker was a two-year starter for the Lady Hawks. Bozeman finished the 2004-05 season with a 21-2 record and a second place finish at the Montana AA State Tournament.

Rucker earned All-Conference honors and was selected to the AA State All-Tournament team. She averaged nine points, 3.25 assists and three rebounds per game.

“Genna is a talented player with the potential to play either the point or the two-guard positions,” said Engellant. “She sees the floor very well, can shoot the perimeter shot and is very strong with the ball. Genna is a proven winner and will be a tremendous asset to our program.”

In the classroom, she maintained a 3.8 GPA and earned Academic All-State honors. Rucker was selected to the National Honor Society.

She is the daughter of Randy and Sharie Rucker and plans to major in business at Western.
