This is a widely variable and common species, and although there might be other Hedyotis in the swamp, I admit I assumed those I ran across to be H. terminalis (mainly because I brought different morphs to the Lawai botanical garden at least three different times, and Tim or Ken always told me it was H. terminalis). The genus is recognized by the blue flowers and fruits (which although discernible in this photo are green before they have ripened).
Case-bearers in the genus Hyposmocoma are common, grazing the leaf surfaces.
