HOME Styphelia tameiameiae (Pukiawe)

Epacridaceae

Indigenous

Lepidoptera collected from this plant in the Alaka`i Swamp:

A fruit feeder, Carposina gracillima (Carposinidae) can also be found in the berries of pukiawe, but plants in the swamp were rarely fruiting when I was collecting. E. monticolans is probably carnivorous on sessile insects on the plant. Hyposmocoma are case-bearing surface grazers.
