Flex-Commuter Plan

What is it?

Why shop for groceries, cook or clean-up after yourself if someone else will do it for you? Let UM-Western Dining Services take care of those time consuming tasks for you with a Flex meal plan. This plan is designed for students who live off campus, faculty and staff or community members who would like the convenience of a meal plan. On-campus students already have a flex portion of their meal plan which they can add money to for use in The Bark-n-Bite convenience store.

Consider the Benefits:

  • Save Money – Save up to 20% over the cash line price on meals purchased in the Dining Services Cafeteria.
  • Convenience - Full options include all day access from 7:00am to 6:30pm with three hot meal service times during the day and a deli & soup station in the afternoon. The Bark-n-Bite Convenience Store located in the Student Union Building has a wide range of items including deli salads and sub sandwiches for that Grab-n-go option.
  • Flexibility – Add money to your account at any time.

How it Works:

                Simple as 1,2,3!

  • Open an account – An ID card is required to open an account. The card can be obtained from the Student Life Office in Davis Hall. If you are a student on a meal plan, you already have a flex account.
  • Payment – A minimum of $10 to open the account must be made at Business Services in the James Short Administration Bldg.
  • Receipt for payment along with your ID card must be brought to the Dining Services Front Office for activation.

Now you’re ready to go!

Adding $$ to Your Account:

·        You can add money to your account at any time. A parent can even call Business Services to add funds to their son or daughter’s  account (406-683-7101.)

Renewing Your Account:

  • All cash amounts on accounts roll over each semester.

Refunds:

  • If you would like to request a refund for a non-dorm account, please come to the front office in Dining to fill out a form.
  • The $75 placed on a meal plan for a dorm student account is non refundable.
