Orientation
Orientation is your guide to Western and marks the beginning of your academic career with us. Therefore, we believe that the Orientation program is extremely important for a good start and expect that all students new to Western will attend.
When and Where? Orientation begins on
On Friday, faculty members will expose students to Western’s Experience One learning program by taking them on field trip and exposing them to activities that will be experienced in the classroom. This is a time for students to better prepare for class and to get to know the faculty. All students are required to attend this activity. Saturday and Sunday include times to relax as well as to complete all of the preparations necessary for beginning class on Monday. On Saturday we have several field trips planned for interested students. For a detailed schedule, please check out the link on the left.
What about my family? Thursday of Orientation is a day for the whole family. We encourage parents, spouses, and any other relatives who are interested in the student’s academic career at Western to attend. There is no cost to bring along a family member, although Western will not be able to provide accommodations on campus for over night guests. We have listed below the names and phone numbers of several motels in Dillon for your convenience. In order to prepare for additional guests, we ask that you please return the enclosed Response Card with the other materials you are sending back to Western.
