AmeriCorps and Montana Campus Compact
AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve through more than 2,100 nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. They tutor and mentor youth, build affordable housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run after-school programs, and help communities respond to disasters. Created in 1993, AmeriCorps is part of the Corporation of National and Community Service. http://www.americorps.org/

The mission of the Montana Campus Corps is to engage more students in extra-curricular community service.
Campus Corps strives to:
The Montana Campus Corps is an affiliate of the AmeriCorps National Service Network. AmeriCorps is the national service initiative signed into law by President Clinton. AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance during their service term. Upon successful completion of a term of service, members receive an Educational Award to assist them in paying for college. Applications and more information can be received from the Center for Service-Learning or can be accessed at http://www.americorps.org.
