The University of Montana Western revived its homecoming celebration over the week of Oct. 10 - 15, 2016.

"Montana Western's homecoming tradition dates back decades and includes a great deal of pride and history and we felt it was time to bring it back," ASUMW President Delaney Hansen said. "Homecoming is an excellent way to instill school spirit and get students, alumni and community members excited about Montana Western and all that makes it such a fantastic school.”

The homecoming theme this year was "code red," honoring the school colors. Students, faculty and staff were asked to wear red and Bulldog athletic gear throughout the week to show support for the Bulldogs.

The week's festivities included:

  • Pep rally on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 on the Legacy Plaza at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be served. Prizes given away.
  • Legacy Plaza dedication on Friday, Oct.14 at 2 p.m.
  • Homecoming football game Saturday, Oct. 15 against College of Idaho. Student Senate hosted a tailgate party at Vigilante Field. Homecoming royalty was crowned during the game's halftime.

"We look forward to next year's celebration and building upon what was a successful homecoming week," Hansen said. "As our school spirit grows, our events will become even bigger and better over time."
