Debbie Seacrest earned their B.S. in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College and their M.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They have enjoyed teaching and interacting with their students at Montana Western since arriving here in 2011. Debbie is interested in using projects to connect mathematics to other disciplines and using games to teach mathematical concepts. Their research background includes using games as a teaching tool to let students discover mathematical ideas organically, and they strive to use these ideas in their own classroom. They are also interested in graph theory and its relationships with other areas of mathematics.
