I am originally from Minneosota but I arrived in Dillon, Montana in 1995. I have an extensive background in ski and bicycle industry, so I operated a ski and bicycle shop in Dillon and still do, albeit in a lesser capacity, to this day. In 1999 I began my relationship with UM Western, first as a student and then as a student employee coordinating programs for Elderhostel/Rhodes Scholar, and teaching outdoor education and low ropes programs for the Birch Creek Center. Following my graduation from Western in 2003, “ a mere 3 days,” I assumed the position I still holds today as the Program Director of the Birch Creek Center. In addition to my position with the Birch Creek Center, I am a professionally certified ski instructor with the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and am a Certified Alpine coach with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).
