Turk finishes fourth in nation
Tess Turk posted a 3.2 second breakaway run in the final round of the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) to earn fourth place in the nation.
Turk completed her four CNFR runs in a total of 12.6 seconds, with her fastest time coming in the third round, securing her entry to the short go. The junior from Elko, Nev. was competing in her first short round of her three consecutive trips to the CNFR. The Montana Western women’s team finished the national finals in the number 16 position, one spot behind Big Sky Region champions Montana State.
Tristan Hansen represented the University of Montana Western in the bareback competition during the championship round. Hansen, a sophomore from Victor, Idaho, posted a 73.0 point ride, his highest of the week, to end the CNFR with 282.0 points on four trips out of the gate. The total earned Hansen an eighth place finish and the Montana Western men’s team a total of 65 points at the finals.
