My name is Margo Heberling and I am an academic advisor here at Montana Western. The University of Montana Western, as it is now known, has been part of our family tradition for generations. My mother-in-law graduated from Montana Normal College with an education degree in the 1930s. My husband attended Western Montana College in the 1960s, and my daughter graduated from the University of Montana Western in 2011. My husband, Ken and I moved to Montana to be closer to his family, and to raise our children in a small, close knit community. Although my children moved away for a time, both have returned to Dillon to raise their families. We live in an amazing community and I work with an amazing group of people. I was hired at Montana Western in 1995, but came to advising in 2001. During that time, the campus was just developing Experience One. I had the great opportunity to work with the dedicated team of faculty and staff who started our journey. Being involved from the beginning has given me an amazing appreciation of what it takes to be innovative and forward thinking. And Experience One is certainly that; providing a way to be an active part of your own education. All of us work hard to help students at Montana Western be successful in this great learning environment.
