The University of Montana Western is reviving its homecoming celebration senior Delaney Hansen announced today.

Hansen is the president of the Associated Students of the University of Montana Western (ASUMW) who is organizing this year’s homecoming activities.

“Montana Western’s homecoming tradition dates back decades and includes a great deal of pride and history and we feel it’s time to bring it back,” Hansen said. “Homecoming is an excellent way to instill school spirit and get students, alumni and community members excited about Montana Western and all that makes it such a fantastic school.”

The homecoming theme this year is “code red,” honoring the school colors. Students, faculty and staff are asked to wear red and Bulldog athletic gear throughout the week of Oct. 10 – 15 to show support for the Bulldogs, Hansen said.

The week’s homecoming festivities include:

  • Pep rally on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 on the Legacy Plaza at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be served. Prizes will be given away.
  • Legacy Plaza dedication on Friday, Oct.14 at 2 p.m.
  • Homecoming football game Saturday, Oct. 15 against College of Idaho begins at 2 p.m. Student Senate will host a tailgate party starting at 1 p.m. at Vigilante Field. Homecoming royalty will be crowned during the game’s halftime.

All events are open to the public.

For information contact the ASUMW Office at 406-683-7211.
