The University of Montana Western moves up in U.S. News Rankings

U.S. News defines public regional colleges according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and states these “public schools run the gamut from small liberal arts colleges to large research institutions.”

Montana Western also secured the 17th ranking for Best Regional Colleges in the West.

According to U.S. News, 64.1 percent of UMW’s classes have less than 20 students. Montana Western’s student-faculty ratio is 17 to 1. The average freshmen retention rate, which is U.S. News says determines student satisfaction, is 73.2 percent.
