Montana Youth Challenge Academy Reopening Update
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to let you know that the Montana Youth Challenge Academy is preparing to return to campus on May 31 to finish Class 42, which was interrupted in March shortly after the stay-at-home directive was issued. I want to thank Director Trent Gibson and his staff for their thorough and meticulous preparations and for working with us, as always, as true partners.
Montana Western, the MYCA, and public health officials have spent many hours over the past month exploring this possibility and creating safety protocols for every aspect of the program. We have included the communication we sent to the campus earlier this week below for those who may have missed it. The protocols and details of the return of Class 42 are attached (click here to download) for your review. This has been a valuable process not only in preparation for the return of the cadets, but also for building out campus protocols for the return of UMW students for fall semester.
Thank you to those of you who shared ideas and comments as we explored the return of the cadets.
Have a good, safe weekend, everyone!
Best wishes,
Beth Weatherby, Chancellor
