Montana Western begins record-breaking year.

August 28, 2015

Although official figures will not be available until the 15th day of classes, Weatherby said enrollment is on track to exceed estimates this year.

“I am extremely excited about the school year ahead, and Montana Western’s opportunities to continue its high standard of academic excellence with Experience One,” Weatherby said.

The record-breaking entering class follows last year’s commencement in which the university awarded the most degrees in its history.

“Our success can largely be attributed to our innovative Experience One (X1). Our ability to provide students with an experiential learning environment truly sets us apart by better preparing our students for graduate school and the workforce,” Weatherby said.

Weatherby said Montana Western welcomes new faculty members Ashley Carlson (English) Charles Ericksen (business and technology), Michael Hengler (fine arts), Megan Kelly (equine studies) and Erin Zavitz (history, philosophy and social science).

Faculty members Michelle Anderson, Shane Borrowman, Heather Haas and Aaron Weinacht were recently awarded tenure and have been vital to Montana Western’s success and academic excellence, Weatherby said.

Montana Western offers a wide variety of majors and programs under Experience One, the university’s unique approach to learning where students take a single class at a time.
