Montana Western Students to Present on Pilchuck Glass School Summer Experience
October 20, 2026
Join the University of Montana Western’s Glass Program for a presentation highlighting the experiences of four UMW students who studied at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School during the summer of 2026. The presentation will take place Wednesday, October 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at UMW’s Emerick Art Studio, located at the corner of Poindexter and Atlantic streets.

Students Jessica Dixon, Madison Gillette, Ansley Nordberg, and Ella Stoddard received Mary Baker Emerick scholarships to attend Pilchuck Glass School in summer 2026, where they had the opportunity to study with some of the world’s leading glass artists and instructors. Located in Stanwood, Washington, Pilchuck Glass School is internationally recognized for its innovative programming and role as a global center for glass art education. From May through September, Pilchuck’s Summer + Fall Program offers a series of courses and artist residencies across a variety of media.
Jessica, Madison, Ansley, and Ella will share their experiences in a presentation and discussion that is free and open to the public. A social with light refreshments will take place before the presentation. The UMW Glass Program thanks the University of Montana Western Foundation for making this event possible.
“Attending summer intensive classes at Pilchuck Glass School is a transformative experience for glass students, made possible through the UMW Foundation and the Emerick Trustees,” said Heather Reedy, UMW adjunct instructor and Fine Arts Gallery curator. “Students benefit from high-level instruction with renowned artists from around the world and build professional artistic connections that will last a lifetime. When they return to Western, the students further enrich the learning environment by sharing their new skills, connections, and experiences.”
