UMW 10-Minute Play Festival Opens October 7

October 4, 2021

The University of Montana Western’s Theatre students are pleased to announce Montana Western’s 19th Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival to be held October 7-11 as part of the Bank of Commerce Performing Arts Series. The performances will begin at 7:33 p.m. each night in the Small Auditorium (room 314) in Main Hall on the University of Montana Western campus.

Over twenty students and faculty will perform as cast, crew and directors for the twelve plays presented. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Diversity” and will feature original plays written by students, professors, and community members. Every nights’ program is different, since four plays will be presented each night.

At the end of the first four nights’ performances, the audience will vote for their two favorite shows, with the winners performing again for the final night of performance. The overall winners will be chosen on the final night by the audience.

The directors all come from the Play Production Class taught on the campus this semester block by adjunct professor Larry Brazill. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $5 for Youth, and Montana Western students are admitted free of charge. The tickets are good for admission to all four nights of the festival. BOC Series season tickets ($35 Adults, $25 – Youth) cover the admission for this and five other wonderful shows this year and they will be available at the door.
