Dr. Johnson earned a B.A. in Child Development and Family Relations and an M.S. in Sociology from Brigham Young University, as well as a Ph.D. in Sociology/Gerontology from the University of Washington. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Case Western University.
“I’m so excited to join the University of Montana Western team! This is a unique opportunity for me to work with the X1 model and help build on the efforts and programs already in place at the Dillon campus. I’m looking forward to becoming part of the university community and working hard to continue the legacy of student success at Montana Western,” said Dr. Johnson.
Among many other professional positions, Dr. Johnson served in several leadership positions at Broadview University, including Dean of Faculty, Campus Director, Director of Career Services, and Dean of Education. He also served as a Lead Student Success Advisor at Southern Utah University.
“Dr. Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Montana Western. His personable approach and laser focus on student success are perfectly aligned with our institution. We’re poised to create exciting new support structures that will help students achieve their educational goals, and we’re lucky to have Dr. Johnson on the team,” said UMW Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Johnny MacLean.
Dr. Johnson started his duties at the University of Montana Western on July 11, 2022.
