Campus Message from Chancellor Weatherby – June 2, 2020

Sent on Behalf of Chancellor Weatherby: A Message for our Students

Hello, Montana Western Students,

I am so pleased to tell you that our 20/21 academic year at Montana Western will begin on August 24th as scheduled. During Fall semester, we plan to offer the usual four blocks, where you take one face-to-face, experiential learning course at a time.

You may have heard that all of the Montana University System campuses have been asked to revise their fall calendars so that students are not expected to return after Thanksgiving. We figured out how to do that without you having to start early. We know that many of you have summer jobs and would like to work as long as possible.

We are also carefully planning to follow all of the health and safety guidelines available and are monitoring current conditions. We will keep you informed about these plans and what Fall at Montana Western will be like.

Most of all, I want to tell you that we can’t wait to see you. This has been such a challenging time, with so much disruption and uncertainty. One thing has remained clear, though, and that is the importance of our citizens to be highly educated so that they can meet the kinds of challenges we are now facing together.

Keep watching the website and your email and stay in touch. We will see you soon. Until then, have a good summer.

Wishing you well,
Chancellor Beth Weatherby
