Dear Students,

Last week, the Montana University System’s (MUS) Healthy Fall 2020 Task Force released guidelines for all campuses to follow as we plan for Fall semester. At Montana Western, we are now in the process of aligning our plans with those delineated in the guidebook: MUS Healthy Fall 2020: Planning Guidelines for Campuses. We are sharing this with you now so that you can get a sense of the considerations and logistics we are working on.

We aim to complete our plans by the end of June. We will share our UMW COVID-19 Healthy Fall Protocols with you in early July.

We are planning to welcome students back to campus this fall, with classes beginning on August 24, and to resume face-to-face courses and campus activities. At the same time, with the likelihood that the novel coronavirus will persist, we are reviewing everything we do, from instruction and research, to dining, housing, and athletics, to do our best to mitigate the risk of exposure and transmission of the virus.

Please keep checking your email for updates on Montana Western’s plans.

Wishing you well,
Chancellor Beth Weatherby
