Biography

Lauren Wang grew up as 5th generation on her family’s cow/calf operation and original homestead in eastern Montana. She attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she received a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science (with a focus on cattle reproduction) and Ag Business. She is currently working towards her Masters.

Largely due to her experience growing up, as well as Cal Poly’s “Learn by Doing” motto, Lauren’s classes fully embrace the highly sought-after experiential learning at Western by having a very hands-on approach. She utilizes the large number of agricultural producers in Beaverhead County to take students on as many ranch visits as possible. Since she teaches several classes belonging to the Farm & Ranch minor, Lauren feels very fortunate to be able to implement practical experience in her classes, as it is her belief that this will contribute far more to her students’ successes in their future careers than anything she could ever lecture on.
