Opportunities for Educators 

Montana Western offers continuing education courses for teachers seeking recertification, state licensure, salary schedule/lane advancement, or other professional development needs. Our courses provide an affordable and convenient way to learn new concepts at a time that works best for you. Explore the topics you are most interested in and gain new ideas and strategies to implement in your classroom. Choose a course taught by our esteemed UMW faculty or one offered by one of our quality educational partners.

If you’re obtaining credit for teacher relicensing in a state other than Montana, please contact your local teacher licensing board prior to registration. They will determine if the professional development credit/clock hours meet your licensing renewal requirements.


Educational Partner

Virtual Education Software, Inc, (VESi) is an online continuing education program for K-12 educators.  These interactive courses provide expert instruction at a pace that fits your schedule. VESi offers over 30 courses.  View course descriptions and syllabi by clicking on the VESi logo below 

Montana Western School of Outreach, along with VESi, have implemented a student-friendly 1-step registration process. Once you have decided on your course(s) you can register using the link on the VESi website or by using the attached link click here. When your registration is received VESi, sends an email with access information. 

Spring: Registration Open from December 15th – March 15th 

Summer: Registration open from May 15th – July 1st 

Fall: Registration open from August 15th – October 15th. 

These K-12 professional development classes are available through Montana Western and are post-baccalaureate undergraduate semester credits.  We recommend that you check with your school district and/or state licensing agency to verify that these course offerings will meet your district and/or state requirements for salary advancement and/or state certificate re-licensure
