Residence Halls

There are four residence halls at The University of Montana Western. Three of the four residence halls, referred to as “JDC” are connected.  Those three are Jordan, Davis, and Centennial Halls.  The fourth is Matthews, which also houses the dining facility and has suites and apartment-style options.  All dorms offer laundry facilities, TV rooms/lounges, community kitchens, and wireless internet.

Residence Hall Access

Each Residence Hall is equipped with electronic locks on all exterior doors. To access residence halls, conference cards are required for each adult individual or chaperone staying on campus.

Door Room keys are issued to each guest upon arrival and are returned at check-out. Lost or misplaced keys are $60.00 each. Keys not turned in at the time of check-out will be considered lost and the replacement fee will be added to the group’s final invoice.

Name lists of all guests and all required forms must be provided at least two weeks prior to arrival. For special requests or questions regarding Residence Halls, please contact The Residence Life Office by calling 406-683-7565 or emailing [email protected]


Dining Services

UMW Dining Services offers delicious and nutritious buffet-style meals made fresh daily. We can accommodate most special diet requests (gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan) and work with guests regarding any food allergies. Guests with special diets or allergies need to provide their needs two weeks prior to their stay at UMW by contacting Tara Jones, Director of Dining Services by calling 406-683-7228 or emailing [email protected].

Sack Lunches

Groups planning excursions can ask about our famous sack lunches that will keep you full and energized throughout the day! We can also provide a variety of pre-packaged snacks, fresh fruit, drinks, coolers, and ice to make your excursion that much easier to plan. Special Meals & Snacks

Add some excitement to your stay with a group bar-b-que, pizza party, sundae bar, or birthday cake. Please place these orders at least one week prior to your arrival by contacting Campus Events & Conference Services by calling 406-683-7566 or emailing [email protected]

Conference Cards

Conference cards are required for all adult guests, staff, professors, and/or chaperones staying on campus. UMW’s multifaceted conference cards not only provide customized access into campus buildings, but are also used to track meal plans in Dining Services. Additionally, funds can be loaded onto the conference cards to be used for on campus laundry, vending machines, and personal printing. Conference cards are $10.00 each and are automatically added to the group’s final invoice.

Classrooms, Meeting Spaces, and Athletic Facilities

UMW offers a variety of classrooms, auditoriums, meeting rooms, outdoor areas, computer labs, and athletic facilities to utilize during your stay on campus. Visit our Venues page for descriptions of each and contact Campus Events & Conference Services by calling 406-683-7566 or emailing [email protected] to discuss your needs and reserve your spaces. Use of any special venues or Athletic facilities is subject to availability, additional fees, and requires constant supervision by chaperones.

Insurance

UMW requires Proof of General Liability Insurance $1,000,000/occurrence with a $2,000,000 aggregate with UMW endorsed as additionally insured. The policy shall include coverage for products liability and include UMW as an additional insured; (ii) Automobile Liability with limits not less than $1,000,000 each occurrence; and (iii) Worker’s Compensation insurance to the extent required by law. The visiting group shall provide Certificates of Insurance to UMW prior to its use of UMW facilities. The Certificates of Insurance shall be mailed to The University of Montana Western ATTN: Campus Events & Conference Services Box 104, 710 South Atlantic St., Dillon, MT 59725, or emailed to [email protected]

Facility Use Agreements

Facility Use Agreements is to be completed initially by UMW Campus Events & Conference Services office. A signed agreement must be on file with the Campus Events & Conference Services office prior to each group’s arrival on campus. Any changes made to this quoted agreement for services rendered and or damages incurred at any time of the group’s stay will be added to the final invoice.
