Business professor elected to accrediting board.

April 29, 2015

Chilson was also named to the IACBE’s board executive committee.

“I am honored to have been elected and look forward to connecting with other business programs across the country and around the world.” Chilson said. “This is an excellent opportunity to discover the best parts of other business schools and bring those new and innovative ideas back to strengthen Montana Western’s business program.”

The IACBE is the leading mission-driven and outcomes-based professional accreditation agency for business and management education in colleges and universities whose primary purpose is excellence in teaching and learning.

Chilson said the Montana Western’s business and technology department was the first in Montana to receive IACBE accreditation.

For a business school to be accredited by IACBE they must demonstrate excellence in business education and upholding high standards in eight key areas: outcomes assessment, strategic planning, curriculum, faculty,  scholarly and professional activities, resources, internal/external relationships and educational motivation.
