The construction crew began work immediately after classes ended in May 2016 and worked throughout the summer to be done in time for the return of students in August.
Legacy Plaza is part of the final phase of the renovation of Montana Westerns historic Main Hall.
The plaza space will serve as a venue for many university and public activities creating a crossroads for campus and community members, Weatherby said.
University alumni and friends can purchase inscribed bricks which will be laid throughout the plaza.
A celebration and dedication ceremony of the plaza is scheduled for Oct. 14, 2016. Alumni and friends and community members are encouraged to attend.
Montana Western Foundation Director Roxanne Engellant said the university offers three brick sizes ranging from $250 to $1,000 each. Inscriptions vary based on size.
