The end of Block Four puts Montana Western at the halfway point of the school year, which operates on a block scheduling system called Experience One (X1), with the last block ending in May 2017.

The end of Block Four puts Montana Western at the halfway point of the school year, which operates on a block scheduling system called Experience One (X1), with the last block ending in May 2017.
“Montana Western has had a successful 2016 and our national reputation is growing as a result,” Chancellor Beth Weatherby said. “Money Magazine ranked us as the best university in Montana for providing high quality, affordable education and U.S. News and World Report Best College ranked us third among western regional public colleges. We’re looking forward to continuing our successes in 2017 and finding even more ways to to improve on the experiential education we deliver.”
Under X1, Montana Western students attend eight blocks, or classes, throughout the school year receiving the same amount of credit as under traditional semesters. The innovative program emphasizes concentrated, real-world learning.
