After publicly launching a $13 million fundraising effort earlier this year to fund scholarships, academic programs, and student wellness and athletics facilities, the UMW Foundation has announced that Stockman Bank is contributing a $50,000 matching gift to the Experience One Campaign for the “Stockman Over the Top Challenge.”
“We recognize the significant contributions that the University of Montana Western brings to our community, and are excited to help make all of these important projects a reality,” said Shane Puyear, Stockman Bank branch manager. “Stockman Bank is invested in Dillon, and the University is such an important part of the community.”
The dollar-for-dollar match of the next $50,000 in gifts will support Montana Western’s new Sports & Activities Complex project. This gift is in addition to an earlier $65,000 gift to the same project.
“Montana Western Athletics is grateful to Stockman Bank for their generosity and are excited for the impact the new Complex will have not just for our student-athletes, but for all students and the community of Dillon. We highly value the relationships we have with the community and want to thank all of our donors who are helping us make this goal a reality,” said UMW Director of Athletics, Michael Feuling.
Over $11.8 million has already been committed to the comprehensive campaign, of that, about $4.5 million will be directed to the Complex project. Approximately $8.5 million is planned to be divided among the other three funding priorities of the campaign including substantially increasing support for student scholarships, adding a Wellness Center to the campus to support the mental and physical health of UMW’s students, and investing in the Fund for Experience One to increase experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty. Montana Western hopes to secure the remaining funds needed for the campaign over the next twelve months.
“Stockman Bank and the Coffee family have deep Montana roots and understand the impact that Montana Western has on our region and across the state,” said UMW Foundation Executive Director, Roxanne Engellant. “Their support is also a call to action that now is the time to bring the Experience One Campaign over the finish line.”
