The day’s events start at 11:00 a.m. with a tailgate celebration at Vigilante Field followed by the Montana Western vs. Montana Tech football game. Doors open for the Bulldog Bash at the Keltz Arena after the football game with dinner being served at 5:30 p.m. A “Legacy of Casey Keltz” video tribute, silent auction, and live auction will take place during the Bash.
“The Bulldog Bash is so important to the Athletic Department and our student-athletes. The funds raised from this time-honored event are critical to help current and future Bulldogs to compete, and more importantly, graduate as champions,” said UMW Athletic Director Michael Feuling. “This year we are honoring a Bulldog legend in Casey Keltz, who helped start this event 30 years ago and meant so much to the university. We look forward to having our alumni, fans, friends and community members join us to celebrate Casey and make an impact on current and future student-athletes.”
The Bulldog Bash, in conjunction with other fundraising efforts, provides scholarship dollars for UMW student-athletes, and funds projects to enhance facilities and other aspects of the student-athlete experience. In addition to providing financial support to programs, this event is a great opportunity for boosters, community members and families to connect with each other and the UMW Athletic Department staff.
“It is very fitting Casey Keltz is being honored on the 30th anniversary of the Bulldog Bash as he led the charge in getting the Bash started all those years ago. Casey knew there was a tremendous need for support of Bulldog student-athletes and the Bash was a great way to bring the fans together to generate support and celebrate these students at the same time,” said Phil Willett, President/CEO of Pioneer Federal Savings & Loan and MC of the 2022 Bulldog Bash.
“There is no bigger name in Bulldog athletics than Casey Keltz, he is a legend among legends, at various times serving as the head coach of football, baseball, and track, and what he is most famous for, an incredible head basketball coach for almost 30 years. Casey’s mark on Bulldog athletics and the community of Dillon goes much deeper than wins and losses – he was a tremendous mentor to so many, not only the many Bulldog athletes he coached, but also so many around the Dillon community as a successful businessman,” said Willett.
Tickets to the Bulldog Bash are available for $40 for single, $75 for couple, and $10 for UMW students. Reserved tables of eight are available for $300 and limited availability front row tables of eight for $350.
