According to Gallery Coordinator Aja Mujinga Sherrard, “The University of Montana Western Fine Arts Gallery allows us to bring inspiring contemporary artists from around the country to Dillon as well as to showcase the wonderful art in our own community.

"Summer House," mixed media
“Summer House” by Sierra McClain, Senior: Visual Art/Pre-art Therapy, 2020, mixed media.

While we were disappointed that doing our part to slow the spread of the coronavirus necessitated closing our physical doors, it is our pleasure to announce that this allowed us to celebrate what our students have achieved this year by opening a virtual one.

Glass Goblets
“Goblets” by Luke Feasline, Senior: Visual Arts-Glass, 2020, boro glass.

In this first Virtual Juried Student Exhibition, the UMW Fine Arts Gallery is thrilled to partner with guest juror Reilly Shwab to present you with these examples of talent, creativity, experimentation, and resilience in the artwork of our very own UMW students.”

"Breathe," ceramic art
“Breathe” by Mary Reynoso, Junior: Art Education K-12, 2019, earthenware.
