Montana Western students visit Rocky Mountain Laboratories.

November 20, 2015

RML is a biomedical research facility which researches cures for infectious diseases.

Biology club president Lindsey Densmore organized the trip to the lab and plans to make the visit annual.

“The ability to meet with scientists in a state-of-the-art facility like RML is possible because of the flexibility provided by Experience One,” said Densmore. “UMW biology students have a distinct advantage when applying for competitive internships and pursuing post grad work due to opportunities outside the classroom.”

The students met with scientists, the director of the facility and toured the various labs including a Level 4 training facility which deals with dangerous and infectious agents.

The students also attended a lecture about the recent Ebola outbreak in Africa from scientists who worked in Africa on the outbreak and are currently working on a vaccine at RML.
