Petr Yakovlev from the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology (MBMG) will present in the latest installment of “On the Rocks” on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017.
“On the Rocks” is a lecture series sponsored by the Environmental Sciences Department and University of Montana Western Foundation Office.
Yakovlev, an assistant research geologist with MBMG, will present on the Indo-Asian orogen, the world’s largest region of high topography, which affects both regional climate and mammalian speciation.
Yakovlev’s lecture is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. in Block Hall on the UMW campus, Room 311.
All “On the Rocks” presentations are free and open to the public.
