UMW Fine Arts Gallery Presents “Radical Subjectivity”

The University of Montana Western Fine Arts Gallery is proud to host an innovative, experimental, subtle, and dauntless selection of works from the Missoula Art Museum’s Contemporary American Indian Art Collection.

Entitled “Radical Subjectivity,” the exhibition features the distinct voices of Corwin Clairmont, Jason Elliott Clark, Molly Murphy-Adams, Ernie Pepion, Fritz Scholder, Sara Siestreem, Emmi Whitehorse and Melanie Yazzie.

Assistant Professor of Art and Art History and Gallery Coordinator Aja Mujinga Sherrard will introduce the Exhibition: “Radical Subjectivity: Contemporary Indigenous Artwork from the Missoula Art Museum” with a short lecture on contemporary Indigenous art.

The gallery talk will be from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m in Main Hall room 309 followed by the gallery exhibition reception from 6 p.m – 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery in Main Hall. Admission is free to all that attend. Light refreshments will be provided during the reception.
