UMW grad headed to the University of Denver.

May 22, 2015

Rodriguez plans to become an education specialist in child, family and school psychology.

“I was inspired by Montana Western psychology professors Heather Haas and Mark Krank,” Rodriguez said, “I was excited to go to class every day knowing I was where I was meant to be.”

Rodriguez grew up in Manhattan, Mont. and graduated with honors from Montana Western in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.

For the past year since graduating, Rodriguez has been volunteering at Montana Western’s Curious Minds preschool and at the Montana Youth Challenge Academy gaining experience and a better understanding of how education specialists contribute to disabled children’s learning.

“I love people and want to help children and young adults who are vulnerable and misunderstood.” Rodriguez said. “Coming to Montana Western has taught me that the best way for me to help others is by becoming knowledgable and educated. That’s why I’ve decided to continue on to graduate school.“
