What is a Bulldog Card?
The Bulldog Card is your key to student life at the University of Montana Western. It will give you access to the gymnasium, cafeteria, library, and much more. Just about every service on-campus will require a swipe of your Bulldog Card, so it’s important to pick one up as soon as you arrive.
Cards can be purchased at the Residence Life Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. They require a government or state issued ID, $20, and a big smile!
You don’t need to get a new card every year, but if they get damaged, you’ll be required to purchase a new one by the University or off-campus Bulldog merchants. Damaged cards can be replaced at the Residence Life Office for $20.
The Bark ‘n’ Bite is Montana Western’s own convenience store and restaurant. They offer a wide assortment of candy, snacks, coffee, and sodas, along with everyday essentials like cold medicine, toothbrushes, and tweezers. Hot food includes french fries, freshly-grilled burgers, and pizza sold by the slice, along with other fast-food favorites.
Bulldog bucks can also be loaded onto your Bulldog Card and they never expire. These can be spent at the Bark ‘n’ Bite as well as the Bookstore, Cafeteria, Residence Life, The Cup (Montana Western’s gourmet coffee house), and at select vending machines.
Paw Prints for Success is an incentive program for our University of Montana Western students. Paw prints are earned by engaging in campus activities (both academic and extra-curricular).
For example, a visit to the BARC (Montana Western’s gym which features weights, basketball courts, cardio machines, and more) will earn you 200 Paw Prints. Sporting events and plays are worth 300, while Workshops (TRIO, advising, financial literacy, etc.) are worth 700! This year we will also be working alongside local businesses to help bridge the gap between our campus community and our Dillon community!
It’s easy to keep track of your Paw Prints because your Bulldog Card will be swiped at each of these events. The points will automatically be stored on your card and can be checked at any time through the Bulldog Card Center.
What can you buy with your Paw Prints? Nothing, because it’s more fun than that! At the end of every semester, students use their Paw Prints to bid at a live auction with great prizes like 50’’ TVs, Scholarships, Video-Game consoles, a free stay in the residence halls, and much more.
This makes staying engaged in student activities fun and rewarding. Every time you go to a football game, hit the gym, or visit the tutors in the Learning Center you earn Paw Prints, so before you know it, you’ll be rich in Paw Prints!
