UMW Hires COVID-19 Testing and Communications Coordinators

The University of Montana Western is pleased to announce the hiring of two temporary staff positions to assist UMW in its COVID-19 mitigation efforts.

These positions are funded by the federal COVID-19 testing and mitigation funds UMW was awarded by Governor Bullock in support of the Montana University System. UMW received $1,175,720.00 to be used for staffing, testing, and logistics related to COVID-19 mitigation.

COVID-19 Testing Coordinator- Sadie Caltrider

Sadie Caltrider moved to Dillon in 2010 to attend UMW and graduated in 2013 with an English degree and a minor in professional communications. After graduation, she went to work for Beaverhead County as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, and has spent the last four years working for Beaverhead County Disaster and Emergency Services. Recently, she has been a member of Beaverhead County’s Incident Command Team for the COVID-19 response filling the role of Public Information Officer.

Outside of work, Sadie is currently enrolled at UM and is finishing her last class toward a master’s degree in public administration. In addition to work and school, she and her husband Matt have two boys, Calvin (6) and Henry (3.5), and two crazy boxers, Havoc and Pearl. They enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and road trips.

In this position, Sadie will coordinate COVID-19 testing and logistical procedures in collaboration with Beaverhead County Public Health and the University of Montana Western and will serve as the case manager for those who are quarantined or in isolation.

COVID-19 Communications Coordinator- Baylee Rawson

Baylee moved to Montana from New Mexico in 2018 with her husband, Cody, to start a new adventure in his home state. In 2017, she graduated from The University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the Anderson School of Business. After graduation, she worked for Student and Recruiting Programs at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was recently an Admissions Representative for Montana Tech in Butte.

When she isn’t working, she is chasing her 14-month-old daughter, Everlee, around. Since moving to Montana, she now enjoys all the state has to offer, including floating the rivers and hiking the beautiful trails.

In this position, Baylee will support the efforts of the COVID-19 Testing Coordinator and University Communications to assist in the maintenance and development of COVID-19 related communications.
