Policy
The University of Montana Western regulates the presence of animals on its campus.

Background and Goal
The purpose of this policy is to comply with city ordinances regarding animals within the city limits, and to provide a clean, attractive campus for the campus community and visitors.

Procedures
- The University of Montana Western adheres to the City of Dillon Animal Control Ordinance, on file at UMW’s Facilities Services office.
- Montana Western prohibits animals running at large on campus.
- Animals are not allowed in campus buildings, with the exception of those that are trained for and utilized by persons with disabilities and approved by the Dean of Students.
- Montana Western requires that animal waste be removed and properly disposed of by the individual accompanying the animal.
