MUS TO CONTINUE “ONE-TWO-FREE” DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Montana Governor Steve Bullock and Commissioner of Higher Education Clayton Christian have announced that the popular One-Two-Free program, a pilot project that allows high school students to complete college courses tuition-free, will continue to be offered through the Montana University System.

UMW ALUMNA WORKS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MONTANA STUDENTS
University of Montana Western graduate, Kelly Cresswell, Executive Director at Reach Higher Montana and Vice President of the Student Assistance Foundation, has been leading the way for higher education opportunities for Montana students since 2004.

MONTANA WESTERN TRIO PROGRAM TO HOLD EVENT FOR NATIONAL TRIO DAY
On February 20, 2020, students involved in Montana Western’s TRIO Student Support Services will be holding a tabling event in the hallway outside the office at Main Hall 215 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The campus community is invited to stop by to meet the inspiring students in the program, learn more about the services that TRIO SSS offers, and have a cup of coffee or cider.

DILLON COMMUNITY PARTICIPATES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION COURSES AT UMW
Montana Western students studying Early Childhood Education taught local children, ages 3-5, in the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation Model Classroom at UMW. Instructor Aaron Cashmore taught Early Childhood Curriculum and Environments during block four, followed by Integrated Early Childhood Curriculum in block five.

IOLA ‘OLIE’ ELSE INDUCTED INTO MONTANA COWBOY HALL OF FAME
The Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame (MCHF) inducted its newest members during the annual Circle the Wagons event and ceremony held in Great Falls, Mont., Feb. 7-8, 2020, including retired Montana Western rodeo coach, Iola ‘Olie’ Else.

UMW RANKED AMONG 50 MOST AFFORDABLE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN AMERICA
The University of Montana Western was recently ranked among the top 50 most affordable colleges and universities in the United States according to universityhq.org. University Headquarters is an industry-leading, independent educational organization that offers an all-in-one source for information on colleges, entrance requirements and career paths.

ARTISTS AMANDA THATCH AND KIM WEISS VISIT UMW
On Jan. 30, 2020 visiting artists Amanda Thatch and Kim Weiss presented an artist talk followed by a gallery reception for their collaborative show titled “Recurrence.” The artists' work will be available for viewing until Feb. 12 in the Montana Western Fine Arts Gallery.

MONTANA CENTER FOR HORSEMANSHIP ANNOUNCES MAJOR GIFT
The Montana Center for Horsemanship, an equine education center and the only one in the nation devoted exclusively to natural horsemanship education and a partner with the University of Montana Western, is about to take a big leap forward. The nonprofit organization has just received a pledge of $250,000 to begin the development of state-of-the-art classrooms, a conference center, a veterinary/research area, kitchen and restrooms. The pledge requires matching funds to complete the Center’s expansion of these key areas.
