MONTANA WESTERN TO HOLD 128TH ANNUAL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
The University of Montana Western will celebrate its 128th Annual Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Bulldog Stadium on the UMW campus.

The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education has announced the selection of eight faculty members from across the state to be honored as Montana University System Teaching Scholars, including University of Montana Western Associate Professor of Education, Dr. Katrina Kennett.

UMW ALUMNUS BRENNAN JUDEN SHARES CAREER INSIGHTS WITH ENGLISH STUDENTS
Brennan Juden, a 2013 graduate of the University of Montana Western with a Bachelor of Arts in English, returned to campus to speak with English majors about the wide range of career possibilities. Now the Marketing Coordinator for Great Harvest franchisees in Dillon, Brennan shared insights into his career path and the skills that helped him along the way.
UMW GLASS PROGRAM TO HOST ARTIST IN RESIDENCE MICHIKO SAKANO
The University of Montana Western is honored to welcome internationally acclaimed glass artist Michiko Sakano as an artist in residence from April 21–25. Sakano will share her expertise during a free public presentation and glassblowing demonstration on Saturday, April 26, in UMW’s Emerick Art Studio.

The University of Montana Western and the Dillon Public Library invite the community to celebrate the third annual Japanese Festival in Western Montana, with a variety of events taking place May 2–3, 2025.

2025 COLT SALE RAISES OVER $230,000 FOR NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP PROGRAM
The University of Montana Western’s ninth annual Colt Challenge and Sale, held March 28 and 29 at the Montana Center for Horsemanship, generated $231,500 for the UMW Natural Horsemanship Program.
MONTANA WESTERN TRANSFERS VIGILANTE FIELD OWNERSHIP TO BEAVERHEAD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
The University of Montana Western has officially transferred ownership of Vigilante Field to Beaverhead County High School, marking a new chapter in a partnership that has spanned over 75 years.
